Mercy Autism Center is bringing its services to Livingston Parish, with a new clinic in Denham Springs scheduled to open this fall. The move marks the organization's fifth location and comes in response to rising demand from local families who have been traveling long distances for care.
The new facility is designed to reduce commute times for both patients and staff, many of whom currently drive from the Livingston area to other Mercy locations. According to officials, the expansion will allow the center to serve more children and families while keeping its focus on individualized therapy and support.
The Denham Springs clinic will offer the same range of services available at existing sites, including applied behavior analysis therapy, diagnostic evaluations, and family training. The center says it plans to hire additional therapists and support staff ahead of the opening.
Families in the region have long asked for more autism services closer to home. Mercy Autism Center's leadership says the new location is a direct response to that need, and they expect it to fill quickly once appointments become available.
An exact opening date and address have not been released yet, but the center says more details will be shared in the coming weeks.
