Metro Health hosts back-to-school vaccine clinic for Immunization Awareness Month

San Antonio families can get a jump on school health requirements next week as Metro Health holds a walk-in immunization clinic. The event is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wheatley Heights Sports Complex. No appointment is necessary, which should make it easier for parents juggling summer schedules.

The clinic is part of National Immunization Awareness Month and aims to help children get the shots they need before the new school year begins. Vaccines will be provided through state-funded programs, meaning eligible families can receive them at no cost.
