Oregon has allocated roughly $97.1 million in new federal funding this year to support a wide range of health care projects in rural areas, with initiatives planned in every county across the state. The money will back 136 distinct projects designed to address gaps in medical services, mental health support, and emergency response in communities that often struggle with limited access to care.

State officials said the funding targets the most pressing needs identified by local health districts and tribal organizations. Projects include upgrading aging clinic facilities, expanding telemedicine capabilities, and purchasing new ambulances for volunteer fire departments. Several grants will also fund mobile health units to reach isolated populations and support workforce training programs to recruit more nurses and paramedics to rural areas.
