Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month: UCI Health Medical, Surgical, Radiation Clinicians Available to Comment About Pancreatic Cancer, New Treatment Options

Pancreatic cancer remains one of the most challenging cancers to diagnose and treat, accounting for roughly 3 percent of all cancer cases in the United States and about 8 percent of all cancer deaths, according to the American Cancer Society. Projections from the National Foundation for Cancer Research indicate that pancreatic cancer is expected to become the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths by 2040, underscoring the urgent need for awareness and advanced care.

In recognition of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, medical, surgical, and radiation clinicians at the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center are available to discuss pancreatic cancer and emerging treatment options. The center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center based in Orange County, a distinction that reflects its capacity to deliver leading-edge care and offer hope to patients and their families.

The center's multidisciplinary approach brings together specialists from multiple fields to coordinate diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing support. For patients facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis, access to a comprehensive cancer center can make a meaningful difference in outcomes and quality of life. Clinicians are available to comment on the latest advances in treatment and the importance of early detection during this awareness month.
