Representative Jahana Hayes has been discharged from the hospital after experiencing a health scare late last week. The Connecticut Democrat shared the update in a video posted to her Facebook page on Sunday, confirming she was leaving St. Mary's Hospital after a two-day stay.
In the video, Hayes described what happened. "On Friday, I felt like I was dizzy while shopping. I was out getting phones at the mall and felt..." she said, trailing off before explaining that she sought medical attention. She did not provide further details about her condition but thanked the hospital staff and well-wishers for their support.
Hayes, who has served in Congress since 2019, did not specify the exact cause of the dizziness or her symptoms. Her office has not released additional statements regarding her health status. The lawmaker appeared to be in good spirits in the video, expressing gratitude for the care she received.
The incident briefly raised concerns among her constituents and colleagues, but her release signals a return to normal activities. Hayes is expected to resume her duties in Washington in the coming days.
